Yokai: Little Rainfall Boyby *amasugiru

So, I drew some Yokai for Anime Boston\'s art contest. Sadly, I didn\'t realize that they wanted completed pieces and I went ahead and made a bunch of characters that I thought would be good for promotional use. They gave my Kozo chibi an honorable mention!

However, I really wanted to do something more with him. So, for the past few days I\'ve been starting and stopping this piece. This is not the final piece but I wanted to get more criticism and tumblr just isn't providing it.

I don't know enough about this particular yokai to say how well you captured it, but those wild, creepy eyes definitely say "yokai." And I love that he's got a broken umbrella on his head.

The art is well composed--with Rainfall Boy not-quite-centered on the page, and everything leaning just a bit. That adds to the weirdness. And the bridge & lantern are wonderful touches.
